I think he's legal, BUT i would let him walk. He'll be around next season.

I would not take the chance. Find one that is legal for that will teach him to be a better hunter follow the rules whether you agree with them or not

Disappointment to the kid thanks to ARs. "We can't shoot him although he's a good one, you see his antlers aren't good enough to suit the TP&W and all the trophy hunters out there who would say let him walk...he'll only get prettier next year. Sorry, I know your heart is pumping and you would be so happy to take him. Oh well kid, that's the way ARs go."

You cant put a ruler to his ear and with tpwd sayin to use the ears as a judgment...and not all bucks having the same size ears no one will ticket you for being this close...if it was my kid the deer would die..either way...the buck is 13

I drew lines and measured it, his inside spread isn't as wide as his ears tip to tip.
