Visited academy today, decent sales going on, but I was looking at some of their clothing. Their game winner brand cargo pants in real tree are $20, but they have another style that supposedly controls scent and is made of a different material but it's $80. Is this just a gimmick or does it actually work? I'm trying not to break the bank but I also wanna be effective.

Being effective means hunting with the wind in your face.

True but does it give any advantage at all? Such as the random buck that wanders from downwind?

I don't believe it does. I buy the $20 stuff during the "after season sales" for about $10. I'm mindful of the wind when I hunt and I'm always successful.

Mythbusters and others have found that the scene elimination stuff doesn't live up to it's claims. I'll save my money and still hang deer on the skinning pole. Just my humble opinion.

Sure, anything will work once in a while. But I don't buy into it.
