Here's the story.

My neighbor called this morning at around 7:45 and asked me to come outside. I walk in his backyard and there is this doe, about a 60 pound yearling, with her guts ripped out and eaten. The stomache was laying about 5 feet away and had been ripped open but left, her throat had teeth marks where the animal had killed it, and her butt had the hide torn off and her tail was gone. The wrought iron fence in our backyards was caved in where the deer looked to initially have hit it trying to get away. The fence was also torn up where the deer had obviously been tried to be drug through the fence because there was blood and hair all over it at that place. My neighbor said that he heard something that sounded like a woman scream at 12:30 am last night and came out to find the deer dead on his back patio but no blood and certainly not ripped open and the throat mangled. He looked around saw nothing and went back to sleep. At 5:30 he woke up and looked out and the deer had been drug across the yard, eaten like you see in the pics, and the fence was caved in in the one pic. I looked at the golf course green just across the fence and there were two piles of scat but they didn't look like any coyote turds I have ever seen and were much bigger. They had what looked like bones and other various stuff but not a ton of hair like coyotes. Was gonna take a pic but before I could the Golf guys mowed the green. While we were looking at the deer and talking a neighbor walked up and said her dog had been taken at around 5:30 am as well while they were out drinking coffee on the porch. She said it ran around the house and yelped but when they ran around to that side it was gone. She found it behind another house in the brush at about 8:30 am and all that was left was the head and 4 legs. I planned to put my game camera on the deer this evening and wait for something to show up to collect their prize but animal control wouldnt leave it, my neighbor is a city boy and didn't think we could have maybe killed a big cat, chuppa, sasquach, or something alien-like..

I am not saying it was a mountain lion, but I don't think it was a bobcat because they only get up to 35 pounds according to a little research I did and a coyote would have one heck of a time trying to bring down a 60 pound deer. They also would have likely howled and yelped but no one heard them. The old lady whose dog was eaten said it was wolves LMAO. I am ruling out Chuppacabras because they can fly and would have carried it off leaving no trace, sasquach would have thrown it over his shoulder and ran off with it, and aliens would have beamed it up to their shuttle. Let the debate begin.

Oh and all that was left in the deer was the lungs and the heart it was all completely gone.

Maybe but they usually kill for fun and don't eat it, and when my neighbor went out they would have likely still been there. Plus no one has ever seen a dog running around in our neighborhood.

I don't even know where Collin county is but not around here. The State Park is only about a mile and a half away and they have signs up all over that say to watch for Mountain Lions and the people that work there say they have seen them. I always ask them how many they have seen today when I go out there just to mess with them and they always say so and so saw one last week or whatever. Maybe I am going to eat a little crow for messing with them.

as far as I'm aware cats don't eat the inerds. they will kill at the throat but then they usually munch down on the honches.

Think Collin County is only about 100 miles from Mineral Wells, and cats do travel... just sayin

You may be right I sure don't have any experience with them, except for all the people that claim to have seen them but never a pic.

Cats like the guts if they feel rushed. Given the time they will eat all they can, meat, guts n all soft tissue. Seen several goats n lambs done this way by bobcats over the years.

I am thinking cam and my pop up in the bushes along with my Mathews. Would prefer the Benelli with 00Buck but the neighbors would freak and I would end up in jail!

That was my initial thought but several guys I called that are self-proclaimed experts said a bobcat likely couldn't take down a deer that big. Or at least it wouldn't want to unless there was nothing else, but we have a sheetload of cottontails around here.

Big cat, they are around and have been seen in the outlining parts of city limits. Als, cats do eat innerds for the quick fat for winter months.

If I'm not hunting something I must be dead.

That's the problem with self proclaimed experts, they rarely are.
