Just curious, what grain and type of 308 bullet do you usually shoot?

For my type of hog hunting, I’m not as worried about bullet weight or type as I am about accuracy and price. I can’t reload as fast as I shoot, so I tried box ammo from 150 gr to 180 gr.

I was using 150gr Hornady SSTs, but a friend had a tip break off while feeding and locked up his gun. 150gr Rem corelokts shoot acceptable groups in my gun and they are priced below $20/box (last time I checked), so that's what I'm shooting now.

My 308 bolt gun likes BlackHills 168 gr match. If only I had been born rich instead of good looking I would be shooting premium ammo.

My guess is the hog got scared at the sight of djones and broke its own neck just to save itself from being shot....................in the faaaace!

This was a move I taught Chuck Norris when he was a student at my dojo using attack dogs. He thought it would look cool in his movies, but he never could quite get the hang of it.

Attack dogs nearly always go for your throat. When they jump, you duck. While they’re flying over your head, grab their front paws and forcefully (keyword – forcefully) slam them down faaaaace first. That should break their neck.

Note: if the hog is too big to jump over you, be prepared to shove your arm down his throat and suffocate him.

Seems like a "tall" tale to me, neverless a good read. Never seen a person who could break even a dead hogs neck bare handed and hanging.

Really? Never??? Do you not get out much? I do that all the time when I run out of ammo and don't want to get my knife bloody. Heck, sometimes I do it just for fun. Once it was muddy and I didn’t want to lay my rifle down so I face-slammed one with one hand!
