in the beginning of august i made the decision to chase chukars. 15 years ago i chased chukar in nevada and it kicked my arse. no way this is too much work. never again. well times have changed and i am going again. i picked idaho this time. so in august i started running my dogs and picking up the cardio program in the gym another notch . gave up fishing so i could devote all my free time for this trip. lots of researching, shooting trap and skeet, working dogs on birds, and getting us both into shape. i am always in the gym regardless but i really stepped it up for this trip. finally my time is almost here to leave. 2,000 miles one way . the travel trailer , camping gear, hunting gear and i am so excited i cant sleep. 3 weeks of hunting this is the biggest trip ever for me. hope your season is going to be a good one for you too!

I grew up in chukar country in eastern Washington. Do you know where in Idaho your hunt will be?

Good luck! Give valley quail a try while you're there.

Take pictures.

I've tried to convince my husband we should retire in Idaho. I'll always be a Texan but Idaho has more of a varity for the wing shooters.

Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden.
Experience is what you get, when you didn't get what you wanted.

I hope you really get into them. Sounds like a trip of a lifetime. Oh, keep the Garmin on that pointer of yours even when you stop for a break, we don't want to read another story like last year. whistle Be safe, have fun and DON'T FORGET YOUR CAMERA!!
