Every time we get any ducks show up at our pond, it seems like there at least one grebe hanging out with them. Is that normal? I guess I have never really paid attention in the past but now it seems like a grebe is almost always with whatever kind of ducks shows up.

Never have seen grebes with ducks unless its at a park. Sure there not coots? I didn't think so, but I double checked with the binos and there is no resemblance to this supposed "grebe" and a coot. It fits the profile of a grebe (headshape, size, etc.)

We've had at least two pairs of Grebes at the wetlands for the past 4-5 seasons. They arrive with the early migrators but, in our case, don't leave with them. Rather, they stay until we get a heavy ice-over.
I have to admit I've started to draw down on them a couple times in early morning dimness, especially when I can hear Teal calling from inside flooded cover. Fortunately we haven't made that mistake so far. Other than driving impatient dawgs nuts, I like having the Grebes around ... they serve as confidence dekes IMO.

I've definitely seen grebes using the same areas as other ducks, but have never seen a grebe fly in with a group of ducks.

They are kind of fun to watch if nothing else is around. Had one waddle right up to the blind last year

We have some locals that are typically always on our pond. The seem to know where to be and where not to be. Good for motion and will sometimes chase ducks towards us.

they seem to like my decoys spread more than ducks usually.
I like spoonie, his humor is dryer than my duck lease.

I've been told that they only migrate on a full moon and usually in pairs. Ive never seen one flying myself and I been at this for a while.

The full moon thing jives with what we have experienced at our house. On three occasions, this is when they have shown up. I also never catch them in the air.
