Surely there are some types of systems in place where they could have quarantined the animals until tested.. Sounds like they just made an example of the people. And I don't know that chronic wasting disease effects elk ?? If not, then what in the he** was the purpose of even putting that in the story? Sorry, I get a little cynical about the media..
