None of the guys I hunt with would ever stiff me. If one of them asked me to buy a few feeders and they'd pay me back, I'd do it without hesitation.
And I really don't get how someone's marital past is any of anyone's business but his own. Ridiculous to suggest that a guy that had been married 3 times would be excused from a lease. If he got along with the other hunters, I don't see how that'd be even remotely a problem.

Your lucky! I have hunted with people that if you were to loan a fork to them you would never see it again.

Marital status indicates learning or not learning from mistakes... It has been proven by Davy Crockett back before his strong opposition to ARs that it can translate to shooting multiple "wrong" deer over the course of a season.

Like the gentlemen said earlier: Hunt with people you know.
Easier to make the call if you know the likelihood of payback. With most of my hunting buddies, I'd put it at 100%.

x2 I still don't see what that has to do with a deer lease

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind hunting with new people, just never have. No better way to get to know someone than to hunt with them. Aside from my personal ranch where I'm the only hunter and I primarily take guests that have never been hunting before (I think we should all do this at least once a year to introduce someone to this great American past-time), I've always just been a "guest" on my buddys family ranch/leases. This is my first year to actually get a "lease" and wouldn't ya know it, half of the lease members are the same ol family I've been huntin with since I was 8. We can take guests, they are welcome to hunt, but they shoot off of our tags.
Back to the topic: the only thing that a guest has ever said to me that made me turn my truck around and take his butt home:
"I didn't get a hunting liscence... I can just use one of your tags right?"
First and last invite for this guy.

Yeah Dan still hasn't answered the marital past question even though he said he would... I'm curious what that has to do with hunting or leasing with someone??

I wouldn't let you on my lease for your obvious shortcomings in history.

If after three attempts you can't find a woman who is willing to put up with you, you probably have a few bad habits that I don't want to deal with either. As someone stated earlier, deer camp should be a place for R&R with people who enjoy the company of others.

Hear this one all the time when people ask me to take them on a hunt.

Thursday at 12:45 PM #33 Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

Or that some men are just gluttons for punishment and can't help themselves from marrying hot, money-hungry, skanks?
Did hot, money-hungry, skanks never cross your mind, Dan? They didn't, did they? Or DID they?
Come clean.

One left off the list: New hunter to guy in charge of lease-"why does that sheep keep following you everywhere"?

Shoulda kept that gal from southwestern Kansas whose Dad had 5,000 acres who did not allow any hunting around longer hindsight is not a good thing sometimes.
