I once dated a big girl with Russian genetics. Now that's funny! My first wife had Russian genetics , she grew tusks and got REAL mean the older she got!

This^^^^^^ I have killed plenty of big pigs with razor backs and big tusks but they are still just feral pigs. Have neither of you guys ever seen a pure-blooded European hog? They are in NO way, shape, or form "just feral pigs". See below. Standard Feral Pig....  Pure European Boar....  There are places that breed pure European hogs....and have pedigreed herds and bloodlines. Not for everyone....but they are definitely not the same as the basic/standard feral hog found in Texas.

Going to have to agree ^^^^ you can tell when a hog has some russian in him. Different head/snout shape, different body shape, ect.
Some HF places have russian boars, and there is a 100% chance some of those hogs get out and inter breed with feral hogs.

We will stay at the conclusion that Eland Slayer is correct, but there are numerous guides that falsely advertise as having "russian boars" in order to make some extra money. I will agree with you on that one for sure....unfortunately, there are some less-than-ethical operations in Texas that do such things. I only personally know of one ranch in Texas that offers hunts for pure European hogs, and they are VERY expensive.....I believe $2,500 each.

On the Nat Geo show Pig Bomb they DNA tested some in Alabama i believe that had some Russian in them. I believe they said the legs were generally longer and because of that could run faster
