Litteraly waiting around the feeders all day, they are on a slim corn only diet 4 times a day. Pretty sad. Id like to free feed, feel bad for them but dang, cant afford it. Pray for rain!

A lot of times it's natures way of getting things straight again. If it doesn't rain real quick it is going to be too late to do any good. It may be too late already.

I hunt where I live, so it is almost personal for me, like it's "my herd" So I try to feed what I can, at least to supplement them as much as possible. I can't see much in the way of growth from rains now other than winter forbs (sp) and grasses. I have probably 4x's more deer now than normal since my neighbors don't feed. My fear is the coming cold and the stress toll it will have on an already struggling wildlife situation. Texas hunting may have a severe set back for years.

I know they seem to be thin but I've seen twice as many fawns and larger racks this year. I don't say a crack addict is hungry because he waits around at the corner for a dealer.

Luckenbach, you live in the most heavily populated deer herd in the state, and we have had 1.35 inches of rain in over a year hear. Maybe a little different circumstances. I litteraly live in a burnt up dust bowl.

This drought has been great for the deer. Bigger horns, great fawn crop, and they don't need any supplementation at all

Life is too short, as is. Don't chance it. Don't text and drive.
