So next weekend kicks off archery season for Mule Deer I'm thinking that I will likely also have some good hog action and opportunities. So my question is what broadheads do ya'll use for hogs and what poundage would you recommend?

My bow draws 73lbs and I shoot a variety of broad heads. I've killed two with a 2 blade Rage and Thunderheads but right now I'm trying some Muzzy Phantoms. Killed a fence post DRT the other evening. The hog ran off though.

I work hard, drink a little and hunt when I can.

I would recomend whatever your comfortable shooting, I've killed hogs with a variety of longbows and recurves, from 40 to 60#, just be able to put a good sharp broadhead where the goodies are and you'll make meat.

With hogs it's more important to have a well placed shot.

Iv had the best luck with cut on contact fixed blades on pigs, I always try to blow strait through both lungs...best spot ive found for the big boars is a lil further back than usuall...just a lil ahead of midbody...tha big ones will have a very stout shield that covers most the sholder and on some goes further back than that. Double lung um and there not goin far. Magnus stinger are my broadhead of choice

I say the same as above. Practice and shoot what feels right. It is all about placement.

Dont...DON'T shoot rage. I am not against mechanicals but have shot the rages even after hearing about mishaps with them and 2 out of three from the pack just failed miserably.
