Ruger just came out with an 8 shot 4" SP101. I'll probably own one soon.

I think everybody ought to own a Ruger single six. It doesn't know what cycling problems mean.

They are great little guns and I love the heck out of mine, but they also don't know what a .22 LR diameter barrel is either...
I don't know why Ruger insists on selling it as a Mag/LR combo. I would pay extra to get one that was LR only so that I didn't have to deal with an oversize bore.

Me personally, I respect the revolvers but the little 22 needs all the help it can get and that cyl gap really retards the velocity. I can tell you for a chrono fact that a 3.5" barreled Bersa T22 semi-auto will clock the CCI Stinger at 1228 fps where my 6.5" Ruger is 1215 fps, same ammo. As of lately Rugers cyl gaps have really left a lot to be desired on all of their revolvers. They also have an alloy backstrap frame. If a single action 22LR is what you are looking for, may I suggest one of the 6 or ten shot Uberti Stallions. They are made much better than current Rugers sixes and much smoother than a dang Bearcat. Bearcats are tight, rough, and have that cheapo aluminum ejector rod housing that looks like crap. Nothing feels like a six shot Stallion. Yes, get a gun made for 22LR only, not a 22mag dual. The Bersa T22 is a bucket of fun but I've had to send each of them in for repairs. NEVER get a nickel barreled Bersa either. If you want the Holy Grail of 22LR revolvers, look no further: http://www.usfirearms.com/cat/12-22.asp

True, Stallions are top notch for single-action revolvers in .22. I just haven't forked out the money for a new one and haven't run across a used one. You have valid points on the Bearcat but it has a lot of versatility in its size...Old models are my preference.

A smoothed up old model bearcat is hard to beat.

Featherduster, Cabelas has a $20 off cuopon on a Ruger, so $279; not sure about the exact model, I believe the MIII; comes with 3 clips. Starts today and goes on to next week I think. Not sure if that is a good price or not.
