I grew up in Houston, joined the Navy, and just got out and moved here. I just got my hunting license and hunters ed course though I'm fire-arm savvy and extremely responsible. If there's anywhere i can go hunting for hogs on Private/Public lands and ranches within an hour of Ft. Worth, please let me know, Been DYING to go hunt something and can never find a good spot. I dont mind spending a little money of course but would rather just have the chance with someone who owns the land and doesn't mind showing me a thing or two...

good luck. there really isn't a public place within an hour of fort worth. you could go a little farther north to lbj grasslands.

i think the best place to go is tawakoni wma or old sabine bottoms but those are an hour+ other side of dallas.

i'm actually in Justin Tx, about 20 minutes south east of LBJ, already been there, already been scouting, seen a few runnin past fence posts but i'm not gonna walk on to their property, bad part about it is most farmers there dont live on the land they own, and i'm not going to trespass to ask them if its ok to hunt there ya know?

I'll go further out, was just looking for a spur of the moment hunt type thing that wouldn't take too long, got a friend and his dog to help us find the hogs.

Theres hog hunting at Marshal Creek on Grapevine lake, you need get a permit to hunt it. From what I've heard they have lots of pigs.

West end of Lake Texoma, actually the Red River, Corp Property.

white oak in east texas and corp land to about 3 hours from u lots of pigs there not a spur of moment hunt but could be done on weekend fairly easy

You get a permit by going to the corp of engineers office for lake grapevine

Which have been gone for awhile now. The topwaters gobbled all up. The worst thing bout grapevine is you really have to be careful because you might be the one getting shot due to people who dont know what the heck they are doing.
