Few weeks ago a Weatherby Mark V Deluxe poped up in the classifieds here on the forum. I had never owned a 270 Weatherby Mag before so I figured what the heck.......I will take it.

Well today I finaly got around to taking it to the range for a little session. I WAS BLOWN AWAY BY HOW ACCURATE THIS THING IS!!! I started it off at 50 yards and then moved to the 100 yard target and thats when it put a smile on my face. Last three shots were truely less than 1/2" at 100 yards with about a 18-20mph cross wind. In fact my #1 and #2 shots were perfectly in the same hole.......so just to make sure I didnt completly miss the target ( ) I moved to a different orange spot to fire #3. Sure enough it hit dang near the same spot. Factory ammo and bone stock gun too. And to top it all off the gun is pushing 30 years old!!

Now I know that dang near everyone on this forum claims to have a gun that will shoot 1/2" 100 yard groups all day every day be we all know that aint possible. There just simply aint that many guns out there that can do it. Untill today I had only seen one gun actually print 1/2" groups at 100 yards but now I have seen 2 and its the first bone stock factory gun/ammo I have ever seen do it.

So anyway I know the classifieds get alot of heat from people complaining about the prices and the "junk" that shows up for sale there but every now and then there is a true gem to be had.

Congratulations! The only thing better than being blessed w/ a rifle that accurate, is being blessed w/ a rifle that is that accurate that has the long range capability to take advantage of that accuracy. You must be stoked - I would be!

Something tells me the new to you rifle will see a little hunting time this year. Congrats on a good find

It might just take the place of my 300 RUM.

And even fewer PEOPLE that can do it with the guns that are capable.

Mine would be a 17 Remington 700 Classic and the 6.5-284 Cooper

Yep those are my top 2. The 340WBY is not stock though. Hill Country Rifle did some work on that one.

Top orange dot is the 2for1 hole and the lower orange dot was shot #3. Orange dots are 1" so you can see if you lay the orange dots right on top of each other the group is under 1/2".
