For those that have whacked some porkers with 00buck. What was the farthest distance u killed them at? I am going tonight to get more than just one and its close quarters hunting so I was just wandering yalls success has been.

It will definitely put the hurt to them at 20-25 yds. Just be ready to track them after the shot.

I would probably just do some pattern testing if i were you. Just see how they pattern at different ranges. That is what will ultimately be the deciding factor.

If you can put enough pellets on target (kill zone) at 40yds....i would say you're good out to 40yds.

There was a thread over on barf.com (ar15.com) where a guy shot a pig at 30yds with buckshot. He had numerous pellets pass all the way through the pig (chest cavity). He even took pics of the hog cut open w/ wound pics.

Go with #4 buck it has more pellets .24 caliber, will have more pellets in the kill zone. Have shot coyotes over 60yds with success.

Killed them up to 80 yrds with Extra Full choke and 28 inch barrel... even though its not accurate that far out thats 9 huge chunks of lead and untill it hits tha ground its gona hurt something, normal situations id want to be inside 50 yrds.

keep shooting 'till you can't see them anymore. the effective kill range is farther than a .223's
