i have been hunting public land and doin pretty good. opeing day i got three and a couple limits but tonight was the best. i have been workin hard with my new pup Blaze.even though he only 5 months hes showing such promise its hard for me not to take him out with me. hes been fetching wings and he has only seen a few birds that i brought home. we played a few practice retrieves before i cleaned em. heat has been my biggest worry. today wasnt too bad so i brought him along. he snuggled down in a low temp blind with me and waited. it was picture perfect. the birds locked up. blaze was trackin the birds as they cupped. i knocked down a single and on the command "blaze!!!" he was off like shot. he made 3 more perfect retreives over the next 40 minutes. this is my first retriever and i never would have thought such a little guy could have done so well. i was so proud. i wish i had better pics.  opening day. hes mad i didnt take him.  Blazes first retrieves

Sounds like a great first hunt for him. Now that he has gotten to go he'll really be upset if you leave him behind.
Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden.

Great hunt! I'm so glad one of our pups is out retrieving birds. Way to go Blaze, get ready for the big ducks!
