About to set my first game cam out and was curious about if it'd be affected at all when it rains. Should I do anything to waterproof it like duct taping around the case that holds the camera inside? Any advice??

Depends on the camera, if you read some of the small print they actually stated they aren't water proof. Anyway I do build a homemade protector for my camera's.

Print says its waterproof but its a cheap model and just doesn't LOOK that waterproof. What kind of homemade protector did you make for the cameras?

I have had alot of cameras and the only effect I have seen the rain have on them is fogging up the lens.

Okay- makes me feel safer about it not getting damaged due to rain. Thanks for the help, guys.

I don't have a pic, but I cut a 1 x 6 into 4 pieces(what ever the size of the camera), used a finishing nailer, nailed the top(cut top a little longer), 2 sides and back together, cut hole in back piece for the scrap.

Same problem every once in a while, but no damage.
