I believe there are some services online and I've seen a print service advertised on a hunting show. What is the easiest, best, and cheapest hi-resolution (beyond Google Earth) satellite service for a property? thanks.

You would probably want aerial photography, much crisper, for what it's worth.

MyTopos.com does some high resolution but make sure you check the dates on their surveys. I've used them and noticed that the aerial pics they had for the geological survey was 7 years old. With all the gas/oil wells 7 years can change a property dramatically if you are using it to scout for new property.

For my hunting area, Montague County, the MapQuest satellite photos were more current than Google Earth. Don't zoom all the way in, the latest maps are shown using about the third hash mark out on their zoom scale. It shows some of the newer gas wells there, not all, and they disappear when you zoom closer. http://www.mapquest.com/
Good Hunting, Gary

Just checked out Mpaquest, wish you could zoom in closer. The images of our place in Goldthwaite are newer too.

Falcon View or Hog View - both came from the military but are now open to the public.
Back from Afghanistan and looking to catch up on the hunting I missed.

Here is a link to the Texas Natural Resources Information System - TNRIS. There are also topo & other misc. maps available. Surf around the site. I use these satellite images in my oil & gas work: copy & paste http://www.tnris.org/get-data#satellite
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, beer in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming.

I can provide aerial maps for hunting properties. The resolution from the data available is typically good enough to see roads, trees, fences, houses, cabins, creeks, tanks, etc. I can also sketch in the boundary lines, add borders, text, labels, logos, pictures and just about anything else. Price will vary based how large of tract and how much customization you want to add. You can also have them mounted and laminated so you can write on them with dry erase markers or use push pins to note stand locations, feeders. etc. A great item to have at deer camp! Call, PM or email me for more information.
