We could ask my brother! His nickname used to be "gimp" shooter! All of his deer used to have one side of there rack messed up!

Let's blast some more pigs!

How about this for a guess... Could it be that good antler growth depends in part on stimulation to the antler from rubbing/scraping the antler or button and leg injuries make deer favor one side over the other (front/opposite, rear/same) so the less favored side suffers? I thought it was BS but you guys seem to agree it happens. I just have a hard time believing it is in the make up of the deer, some kind of genetic/brain/whatever message to tell one antler to "do" better than the other. That leaves behavior, which seems to me to be more likely as a cause... Anyone?

Here is one I killed a few years ago, had broken left leg. Antlers were laid back like handle bars on a motorcycle.

We watched a deer for three years after another hunter wounded him and sure enough the opposite side always grew deformed, my dad finally shot that buck when he was 7.5

Every day hunting is a good day!!
