We had another great weekend with the duck club. We've got a great group of lease members this year. Highlights included good friends, food, and plenty of BS. We had less groups hunting, but the club still managed to kill over 300 birds between Saturday and Sunday.
Hunting remains very steady down here in Matagorda County. Lots of birds and lots of water. Ponds have produced steady limits and our second crop rice is starting to heat up. As with last weekend, parties who did not manage a limit early stuck it out to finish a little later.
On a personal note, I got to watch my lab, Dozer, catch a crippled teal about 4 feet in the air. 2cool!
