Headed out to the ranch this weekend to finish up last minute work on feeders and stands, and hopefully do some wingshooting.
We're a couple miles southwest of Valera, how's the dove population looking? We don't have any crops nearby, but we do have water.

I'm just west of Novice. Not really any food nearby, but have 2 tanks with water. Hunted twice, shot 4 birds. Gonna keep trying.

Im south on 1026 right around Gouldbusk and we shot 2 man limits Thursday and Friday mornings of the opener. They were really flying, we were pretty much just hunting pasture. The evenings we saw a 10th of the birds, but we had no water to hunt.
good luck

We shot about 10 each hunt over water in the evenings just north of Coleman. A friend killed limits over cut milo around Talpa. Good luck!

Man our place was covered up!
We have no food sources, so I guess they were mostly watering and roosting there.
Probably saw over a hundred white wings Sunday morning, once we figured out their flight path. Great time!
