I own 180 acres NW of PK Lake that was pretty badly burned by the wildfire. Everything is still really dry and looks pretty bad, but I have a few bucks still hanging around. What do you think of these bucks?

I realize the post says PK lake area but is this Circle D Ranch related to the Circle D Ranch in Lewisville/Irving (Horse Training/Bob)?

Sweet looking deer even if precooked a bit. grin

Yep, fire has been the natural way of cleaning up the old growth, and allowing for the new to flourish, and has been going on for a long time.

It's man that gets into the way of the natural process, and as you can see, those deer have bounced back pretty well!

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

That settles it. If I use a Bushnell game cam, then I can get big bucks to show up too. Dang skippy!

If I ever saw one that that looks like the first deer on my lease in Nolan County, I could not shoot it.

I would be too busy cleaning my drawers.

The Circle D Ranch is not high fenced, so my neighbors might get one of these guys. Also it is not the Circle D Ranch out of Lewisville, etc., I am on the NW end of PK Lake.

he looks young too, not that id be able to let him walk...but i think he may have another year to grow. but who knows if he would reach his potential in the next year with the burnt range conditions...depends on how fast everything grows back. yall agree hes got another growing year in him?
