I already have a Millet 4-16x50 on my AR and was looking at their Long Range Scopes. Does anybody have any insight or own a Millett 6-25X56mm
All the reviews I have found have been positive, they say its a little heavy but I'm not going to be lugging this thing around to much.
I can get it for about 434.00 and it retails for 834.00 that's 50% off and looks to be a decent deal.

I own both myself, a 4-16x56 Millet and the $99 vortex 6-24x50 from SFWA, I prefer the Vortex.
Edit: I actually do not have the 35mm Millet scope so I should not comment on it.

Millet is a Bushnell product. My wife has one on her H-Bar. No problems with it. It isn't on par with high end optics but it gets the job done.

K.P. Come by the shop and I'll pull them both off the shelf and you can look down them and see which one you prefer.
Thank you for the kind words gentlemen.

I have the exact scope you're looking at. I like it alright. i defintitely like the fact that it came with 35mm rings, which tend to be odd ball in size and therefore expensive. The scope is gets a little fuzzier start around 22x and up to 25x, but it's not too bad. just enough to be noticeable. It tracks ok, but I have to admit i haven't done it too many times yet. I've only had a shootings with it on my 22-250 and it's held zero just fine.
It's also very big. Good, bad, or indifferent it's big. I like the personally because it fits the look of my rifle. Also, it's huge tube and lens makes for a great field of view even at full zoom. No numbers to support it, but i can definitely see more with it than my Leupold 4.5-14x40 with both set at 14x. The Leupold of much clearer though.
All in all, i still think it's a great value for what it all provides in that price range. Can't comment on it's comparison to Vortex because I've never tried it.
I'm a dude who likes long barrels!

I have a Vortex Viper and would say clarity is on par with Leupold VX-III. Lifetime no fault warranty just like Leupold too. Got mine from Doug at Cameralandny for $250.

man that Millet is heavy ! You're not kidding. Millett stuff is abnormally heavy. I dont know if that's a good thing or not, but I'm hoping it means my scope is built Ford tough.

Leapould does not have a no fault warranty. Vortex warranty is the best in the business. Here is a link to a scope warranty review i did. http://www.texashuntingforum.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/2159378/1

Anyone else notice the eye relief on the Milletts are terrible? I can't remember which one I had, but it was a 4-16 or somewhere around there and I ended up stealing (borrowing) my buddy's 300wsm and put it on there and resighted it for him because he had a simmons 8point on it. But anyways, I had a couple close-calls with almost getting scope-checked. Pretty glad I gave that thing away. I've heard nothing but positive things about the vortex line.

Yep, eye relief on mine sucks. Then I got a Zeiss and found why people pay $ for good scopes.

Yep eye relief sucks on my Millet 4-16x56 30mm Buck Gold, whacked my eye on my 308 with hot loads. Works fine on my .223 AR no brake but it's a heavy bull barrel so the recoil is light.
