Hello gents,

I just added a new member to the family (yellow lab) and he already appears to be a retrieving machine. Been doing my own obedience training and entry level retriever training but I would like to send him off for serious hunting training as I unfortunately do not have the resources or time to do it properly myself.

I am in the DFW area and have been referred to Eddie Noga with Zion Kennels in Bonham. I have hunted over several dogs trained by him and am definitely impressed. I was just wondering if anyone had any other experience with Eddie or any other trainers in the area that they would like to share?

Thanks for the help!

Eddie is great. He got my lab through the Senior this year and I send him back in August to work towards his Master.

I encourage you to take in a hunt test and watch the various trainers and also visit them and their facilities personally and train with them.

I'm obviously biased, but my dog has turned out great. Eddie has gotten the most out of him, but has done it without killing the dog's personality.

He's a hard worker, always returns phone calls/texts promptly, and you are always welcome to visit and train. Feel free to PM me with additional questions.

If you are in Dallas you might check out Brushy Creek Retrievers in Royse City, TX 75189. He has my Black Lab now and has started testing for his MH with him. Tim is great and always encourages you to come out and train with him and your dog so you also learn how to handle your pup/dog. If you have any questions pm me.

Give Georgeanne Wimberley a call at 936-569-3783. She has RW Training Kennel in Henrietta. She has my chocolate pup and is doing great with her. Check out her website www.rwtrainingkennel.com What was cool is she asked me what I was wanting from my dog not what she was going to teach her.

Good Luck!

Hey all... I'm in Michigan right now doing some serious training for the fall tests and upcoming hunting season. Don't think I could get much done with 25 days over a hundred degree's and with summer only a few weeks old. Man it's only going to get worse.

Tim is working with the puppies and young dogs back in Dallas. He's done by noon. I invite you out to see the kennel and our dogs. He's still shooting flyers every week for his truck of young dogs and doing a ton of water.

All the best!!!

Thanks,

Angie

I know that the trainers mentioned above are all excellent choices. I use Tim Milligan of Midway Retrievers, Midway, Texas. He has my dogs. Driver ran the Derby at the Tulsa Field Trial this May 2011 and placed 2nd his first time out. He is now getting ready for Qualifying. Tim also started Lola for me and we went 4 for 4 in Juniors. Tim and the dogs on his truck place most weekends bringing home ribbons. My new pup Katie starts with him in November. Look at www.midwayretrievers.com

I TRAINED A COUPLE OF TIMES WITH TIM AND ANGIE AT TIOGA RETRIEVERS. IT MADE ME WISH I HAD LET THEM TRAIN MY LAB FROM THE START. THEY ARE VERY GOOD AND EASY TO WORK WITH.
