The buck in the foreground I have nicknamed Don Knotts because nearly every picture I get of him his head is moving like that. Is he a dottering old fool or just a nervus Nellie? The buck in the back I nicknamed Mohican because that side view makes him look like he has a Mohawk. What say yee on ages?

The front buck appears to be a 3 yr old and seems to be reacting to the sound of IR noise or the site of it glowing red. The back buck appears to be fully mature but need a side profile of him to tell more. Nice bucks!

A hunt based on only trophies being taken falls far short of what the ultimate goal should be,time to commune with your inner soul as you share the outdoors with the birds, animals, and fish that live there. -Fred Bear

Thanks guys. That is what I was thinking 3.5 and 4.5. I hope I get a straight on picture of the Mohican when I check the game cams this weekend.

it would be repetitive for me to say the same as everyone else.. but i thought the same...to me more important is that neither would live another day once they happened onto my stand this season for certain.. nice looking deer..pretty

I would say the front buck is 2.5 to 3 and the back is 3.5 to 4 , they both display the muscle tone of younger less mature bucks but definitely have gotten good genetics from somewhere , aging on the hoof is not an easy prospect , had the opportunity to participate in a management program on two seperate ranches in South Texas over the last couple of years and we always used teeth to age, so we learned how to better age on the hoof it takes practice nice deer very nice
I love the Great State of Texas and the opportunities to enjoy the outdoors, "All things are possible through Him that strengthens me!"
