 Any good online Serial Number Search

Is there any easy way to search serial numbers online to make sure guns I buy are on the up and up? I have found a few sites but most look to only know about something specifically reported to their site.

Take them to your local PD and have them run the numbers, or pawn it for 5 bucks then get it back out on a 4473.

You can probably call the PD and ask them to run them for you.

only problem with calling the PD, if it does come back stolen, the PD will be responsible for ceizing the weapon.

Well if it is stolen thats between and who ever i was buying it from. i just dont want to buy it if its stolen... I assume most people are on the up and up but you never know...
