Federal premium loaded with barnes x this would be a good choice. a .243 is one of those rounds where it either works or it dosen't, it throws a light bullet not very fast, which dosen't mean a big stopper the use of a barnes X bullet, which i am not a fan of in bigger calibers, would be a good choice, as would a TSX from what I hear. I've seen probably a dozen deer get dropped with a .243. a few ran off like they wern't even hit, a few ran off but died within 30 or so yards and none of them dropped, but most had a good blood trail. best one was with a .243 loaded with 100 grain partitions.
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

I have always used Winchester PowerPoints 100gr. Cheap and I have never lost a deer, pig or bobcat. No need for the fancy stuff. +1

I love Hornady 95 gr Superformance in my .243. Leaves a massive wound channel. Contrarily I despised Remington Core-lokt. They just seem to have terrible terminal ballistics. Just my two pennies.

FWIW, the 80gr Remington PSP is not a Core-Lokt. It's designed for rapid expansion on varmints. Like most varmint bullets, it will do fine for broadside shots at small deer. but if you get a shot at a trophy buck at less than a perfect angle, you could have a mess on your hands. That's why the .300wsm or .25-06 goto the stand with me.

as a few others have stated, any 80 to 100 grain load as long as the gun likes it! My kimber montana loves the fusion!
