Is there a limit on how many guns you can buy and sell without a license?

You can only buy and sell from your personal collection. Anytime you buy a guy to refinish or flip it for profit you need to licensed. Same as working on guns, duracoat etc, if you do anything to the serialized gun you need to be licensed. The BATF is not playing around, especially lately.

It happens every year you see a couple of Yahoos get busted for selling a bunch of guns at a flea market.

I remember they caught a couple of guys 4-5years ago with 400pistols that had been stolen from a warehouse and were traveling state to state selling them out of a van.

The average honest citizen that shows resonable care shouldnt be worried.

Right. There is no magic number. If ATF concludes a person is "in the business" of selling, manufacturing or repairing firearms without the appropriate license its a problem. If the federal prosecutor agrees, its a bigger problem.

We are seeing more ATF activity at gun shows, especially in the Austin area.

Type 03 FFLs (C&R Collectors) get caught up in this from time to time as well.

I'm an 03 FFL. It can be confusing at times about recieving guns for people. But like stated above, if its for profit and buisness, thats where u still have to have an 01 FLL even for C&R guns. But those ppl in emory are idiots. I dont think it will give the forum a bad name even if they were members.

What bothers me about people like this is WHERE do the guns come from. Deals like this are often nothing more than fences. Ya think they were selling guns they "just got a good deal on"??
