Yes. You won't get the velocity advantage but you can hunt,plink and fireform all at the same time.

Yes. That is the only way to make the final brass for that round. There are a bunch of folks over on 24hourcampfire.com who swear by the .223 Ackley Improved.

Many of them say that even the initial fireforming rounds are very accurate, so it's not like you have to waste the shots. Hunt or target shoot with them, even though they will be a little slower than the finished AI.

I think the gunsmith who does the work is very important when making these chambers, as the headspace is very critical for proper fireforming.

This is very critical since a Ackley chamber is a lil bit shorter than the parent cases chamber.
