Been shooting at least 2 rounds ever weekend all offseason at elm fork, I will not shoot any more clay till next Feb. Never shot a perfect score (which was a goal I had this off season), but shot consistently high teens / low 20’s and my last round today was 23, I did not miss till station 4 (5 stand) really thought I was goona go all the way gosh dang it!

Shot clays for the first time this year last weekend. I'll put it this way...glad I found some shells on sale cuz I'm gonna run thru 'em the first day or two. I shot horrendous I will admit. Same ol' when I am rusty.... low and behind a tad. Finally started to shake off the rust towards the end and started connecting. was good to smell burnt powder again

I love shooting class....got out like 3 times this year which is way less than normal. Shooting ducks isnt that hard but I really do think shooting a bunch in the off season helps.
I've never shot a perfect round of skeet either. 22 is my best score ever but I pretty solid at around 20 every time. I had a round one time where I was perfect until station 6 were I missed one then missed the single on the low 7...yeah...then both on station 8. Things can fall about real fast.
Dear Lord please bullwhip me for saying this but I agree, Marcstar is in the lead. Please nobody use this as a quote!!!

I kept telling myself that I was going to shoot I'm the off season but have not made it yet, so I keep telling myself I need to go. Maybe this week. It won't take long to knock the dust off.

I love shooting class....got out like 3 times this year which is way less than normal. Shooting ducks isnt that hard but I really do think shooting a bunch in the off season helps. It does help a lot. You can’t expect to go long periods w/o shooting and step out there and connect like you did when you were shooting more. This off season I shot more consistently than I ever have, and I attribute that to getting out there on a consistent basis. I only shot 2 rounds a week, I would like to shoot 4 rounds a week but just too dang expensive. Now my son wants to start shooting clay again in the off season, that was the reason I bought so many shells at academy on sale, I figured out how many cases we needed next year to shoot 2 rounds a week thru the off season, it is about 6 cases each. I agree duck and dove are easier to shoot than clay, this is mainly because your eyes focus better on birds with the flapping wings (especially when you get older and your eyes do not focus as fast), but also from a concentration perspective (not taking your eyes off the target), the flapping wings help you focus on target. I found this off season shooting clay when I missed was normally lack of focus on the target, either I looked at that barrel, or thinking about lead, instead of just keeping eyes/ focus on target. I shot mainly 5 stand at Elm Fork, 1 target you would expect to be the easiest, was really pretty hard, a target I thought simulated ducks coming straight in cupped up. The target comes straight in towards you over the pond and drops down like it is landing... 1) you have a lot of time to think about the target as it comes toward you (never a good thing when you think) and 2 as it drops down it is dropping faster than you think, easy to shoot over it which is 98% of the misses.. I wish they would allow you to load 3 shells and shoot triples, that would be fun.. You could mix in a triple and eliminate the single on 5 stand.

Nope, no clays for me in the off season. (shhh Guy, these guys miss it is more ducks for us )Talking about cases of shells...this year so far I have shot 13 cases, in 09 I was shooting a case a week. Hard to believe I still suck, slow learner I guess
