I guess I dont understand your anger?? We feel this is a very good price for a quality, wildlife managed hunt. The landowners and farmers are the ones pushing for guided hunts here. They are tired of hunters trashing up the ground and shooting over the limit on quail and pheasant. We feel this is a very fair price and a good time. Please explain your anger towards me and the fact we should be ashamed of yourselves. Please..

I feel that $150 per day for a good pheasant hunt is a fair price. Try looking for day quail hunts unguided hunts are all at least that much or more. Good luck to you shorthair.

Well the best land in KS is not free. I lived there for 11 years...1992 thru 1989. Its between Elkhart,Ks. to Fowler,KS. And I assure you this ground is not free on the best hunts. (I know, I was an agronomist there for 11 yrs.). I have also hunted up into the Hays,KS area on ground that was managed by a KS. wildlife biologist. Its also was not free and was some of the best. I have also hunted around Hemmingford,NE. and this was prime. But none compare to the TX. panhandle this year. I only keep my fuel money on this fee sir. I'm starting to think you are just an angry man. This hunt is the best there is and I have references to back that up. And that price is as good of price as you'll find in this area....and its cheap for what we offer.

Sounds like a fair price. My inlaws live in Amarallo and I would take you up on it if we were going to be there for the holidays. They have several sections there with no pheasant so sounds fair to me!

Thanks gentlemen for the comments. I hope everything is cool now pigpen. It really is about having an excellent hunt. About 8" of fresh snow, plenty of wild birds, and good dog work. And thats what we strive to provide...all but the snow. The moisture is really a variable this year in the TX panhandle. You can reach me at tballinger@cableone.net. This hunt you'll be proud of being on. I have more pics and whatever else anyone needs.

Hey Sharthair, I can vouch for the number of pheasants in the area. I'm 35 miles north of you in "The Pheasant Capital Of Texas", numbers should be huge again this year. Good luck with your hunts. $150.00 is cheap, look at what they get down south for quail hunts.

popeye as dry as it has been up there what makes you think the pheasant numbers are as good as last year?

I am just west of amarillo and the rain has not been alot at one time, but it has been timely. we have a few thousand acres to roam and birds are everywhere. should be a good year.

we have gotten about 5 inches of rain in the last 3 weeks up here in Dumas. There are lots of birds around. i seldom go anywhere without seeing some. last year was the best i've ever seen here.

I was just north of you guys(the okie side) a couple of weeks ago for wheat harvest, lots of birds, most I've seen in years. Should be an excellent year.
