It was everything that i had expected, and more. this axis buck i ended up shooting was a good one. not as good as a few others i had seen.i saw one that waseasy 33-35 inches. i could not get a shot at him with my bow. the next shooter was in the 29 to 30 range, same thing. no shot. the one i ended up shooting was the last few minutes of my hunt, not going home empty handed. 27 in and his left side was a little banged up from all of the fighting. that .270 dropped him in his tracks.the ranch manager bill crawford was as good as good gets. if any of yall have not been here look into it. i cant count how much wildlife i seen in the last two days. i can assure everyone that i will be going to this ranch again. Do not mean to be a party pooper but I am a stickler for gun safety. The way the rifle is situated and closed bolt caught my attention. Congratulations on the axis buck.

Congrats.
How were the blackbucks? I recently took a blackbuck with a bow out there and I can assure you there are some very nice quality animals out there with many ranging in the 18-20" category with some I would guess up to 22" straight horn. There is a very large herd of them out there.You won't be disappointed.

Congrats on the Axis! Sounds like a blast, nice job taking the young man.
Next time open the bolt for pics. I'm sure it wasn't loaded and y'all were completely safe, but seeing those fellas in front of the barrel...
