Just went to fill my feeder, and was seeing some good deer tracks. My Stepdad was saying oh ya, they are going right to the feeder. While he's looking at the tracks, I pull up to where the feeder is supposed to be. And say "what feeder". Somebody stole it It was located just outside of Avoca Tx.

So far I have been lucky and havent had a feeder stolen but I did have a game camera stolen last year. This year the cameras wont be near as easy to find.

Watchale, I hunt really close to avocq.. our place is off hwy 142 by ericsdahl gin. That sucks really. Bad. Guess they took game camera too?

It really sucks to have this happen. I have had this happen more times than I care to remember. Most of the time it is Feeder timers, items from inside a locked stand, or my cameras...Those always seem to walk off. I live close enough to my lease that I go out there atleast once a week to check on things. Nothing more makes me mad to have someone steal from me. Ive even had people rewire my timer were the postive and negatives crossed and put it back together...Or take the SD Cards out of the camera...Now they just take everything...I hope you catch them...

I hadn't set one out. I don't think I will now. My place is not far from the gin. Right on California Creek. Just got the place a few months ago. It looks like they may have taken my feeder yesterday or today. There was still corn on the ground.

No problem with the feeders but they hit both hunter camps this month.

Sorry to hear that. I have yet to have a feeder stolen, but had two cameras stolen the first part of this year. I hate a *&)?$# theif.

I havent had it happen yet and hope I never do but it does pay to have a good relationship with the neighbors and dont keep anything to valuable there.

i hate thieves more than anything and I hate to hear anyone getting stuff stolen. I hope they find them and catch them in a big ring like they did when I had all my stuff out of my truck stolen. Sure was nice of the judge to make them pay me 3x what it was worth in restitution.

Might try to put a camera on the trail going to and from the feeder (hidden) not at the feeder itself. It helped me catch a burglar at my house.

Never had feeders or cams stolen, but they broke into the ranch house and the chapel last year. Blew up the safe in the chapel, but didn't steal much of any value.

Surely there has GOT to be a way to track a camera via some kind of aftermarket GPS device. If Apple and other cell phone manufacturers can put them into a smartphone one would think we could buy something at, say, Radioshack. This mess is ridiculous.

that really sucks, sorry to hear. sadly enough seems like thieves are out and about this year. we were out at the Hunter's Expo last week in Fort Worth when we heard about a guy who had his massive walk-in freezer stolen off this property. who does that? i mean, seriously - a walk-in freezer?! that's definitely not a "crime of opportunity"...

Earlier this year some scum bags broke into my travel trailer that I keep at the ranch. They stole my Interarms .25-06 with a Leupold scope, a Mosin-Nagant Russian rifle, and a Mossberg 1000 12 ga. shotgun.

A couple of weeks ago, I went to the sheriff's office for Concho County in Edin to pick up my .25-06. Then, I drove to San Angleo to go to the Tom Green County Sheriff's office to recover the Mosin-Nagant.

According to unnamed sources, there is a theft ring working between that area and Arlington. The WOMAN in Arlington is busted, along with over 22 other people.

The idiot that had my Mosin-Nagant took two shots at six officers (not with my rifle...no ammo). He'll be locked away for a long time.

Word of advice...write down your serial numbers, make and model of the firearm, and take a picture of it, especially if there are any identifying marks on the firearm.

I didn't get the shotgun back, but no biggie. I bought it at a pawn shop for $100. It would fire the first shot, then jam. It had a piece missing.

jhenderson is right, a good relationship with your neighbors can help you, especially if your neighbors are farming the land around you. They are out there pretty often and know most folks. My Dad just had some road hunters fire a shot over his head while he was on our place feeding the cows.(shooting at a buzzard no less) We've had all 5 strands cut on our fence and people drive in to poach. There are plenty of hethens out there that make it tough on the honest folks. They will get what's comin to them one day. Just remember they have cashed in their karma.
