as stoked as I have been for dove season to begin. I saw the forecast for next week,and not thrilled about being out in 105 heat shooting a gray darts.

I have to work opening day of dove, and the wife just told me for the Teal opener, she and the older daughter are going to a confirmation retreat. Which means, if I want to go, I need to bring my youngest, and she has no interest in bird hunting.

Hopedale your lack of days afield on opening day is due to poor planning on your part. Part of my master plan is to MAKE SURE to take my boss hunting if he can keep me from working 11 and 12 hour days.

I think I am postponing my opener until the next week. But the weather shows 70's and rain.... Hmm, Not sure I believe a 2 week forecast!

Just enjoy it while you can brother. Once you leave the comfee GS job, you're going be joining a whole different planet.

I'll be out there on opening morning. I just hope some birds decide to show up. Last year was the first time I've missed the opener and that was due to being out of the state on a work trip that I could not get out of.

I just do not understand why folks piss and moan about missing the opener. I sched. my vacations are the important openers.

Bunch us guys in the evening play volley ball with some of the Hooter girls that are off that day and they furnish the beer and fried pickles . Well one the guys yesterday had a heat stroke and is still in ICU and wasn't gonna make it. So I ask Dhand to fill in and he said it was to hot for him to come outside

You should be thankful for the rain. Dove should be on the move ahead of the front. Thursday and Friday could be good. Sure wouldn't want to be running the Haskell county roads when the soaker comes through on the weekend. Best advice would be to call in sick for opening.
