Bought the Supercombo plus duck stamp on 8/15 at Dick's, received the stamp today. There was a $68 & $17 charge on the receipt. I guess they charge $2 to handle.

Sigh... went to the Coppell post office this morning, they tried to sell me last years stamp!! I told her I bought the wigeon one last year and it had expired, just as the ones she was trying to sell me!! I then said I needed the one w/ the specks on the front. I got a puzzled look from the lady and a sorry this is all I have.

Guess I'll try another post office tomorrow. I assume they are still being sold there?

From what I understand, the post office at the airport has PLENTY of them. I have heard that several times over the past 2-3 years.

If the $2 charge your talking about is the duck stamp being $17 then that is right, they bumped the duck stamp from 15 to 17 a couple years ago

I just used www.usps.com. Had to set up an account but it was easy. They charge a$1.00 for shipping and handling so total = $16.00. Would cost more than a $1 to drive there.

In the usps search field type "Duck Stamp" and you are there.

Federal duck stamps have not had an increase for around 10 years now. As well there has been a bill introduced each of the last three years or so to increase it from $15 to $25 or $30 with another set date for an automatic increase to follow later. Each year that price increase has been said to be imminent. Well, mine cost $15, so another year has passed without that happening.

So if it went to $25 or $30, then to $35 a couple years later. Would you have any problem buying one. Might there be some people that only waterfowl hunt once or twice a season who would give it up?

I'd still buy it.
If I divided it by the number of times I went hunting the price doesn't sound bad.
