What is your opinion on hunting this season after all the fires around PK lake. I'm just a few miles north of Graford and we were hit pretty bad with the fires. Im new to the deer/hog/turkey hunting and need some sort of advice I guess. I have my feeder filled with corn and protein also have mineral licks in place as well. I also have my game camera setup. What else do I do? I did see some turkey but they were on the other end of the property which is 2000 acres. Do I just play the waiting game or is there anything else i'm missing?

Ya'll have had a lot of rain since the fires.I think you'll be fine.Like eastex said,if you aren't getting deer on camera move your setup. We're up in the rough cedar country and I have found most of the deer stay low,at the bottom of draws.Good luck, with 2000 acres you will have deer.
Life is too short, as is. Don't chance it. Don't text and drive.

You should be seeing new growth and deer. I know someone that owns a ranch in PK and he has new growth and deer after 90 percent of his place burned.
If you don't see any deer on camera by your feeder set up soon, I would move it to another spot.
I like pinch points, like creek beds converging, valleys intersecting. Check out your place on Google Earth.
Find the deer trails and follow them until you find an intersection and put your feeder set up there. Thats how we do it.
