I have always had a bad taste for Walmart - due to budget issues always find myself going back when absolutely necessary to pick up stuff.

I have a Walmart close to work and they have deercorn for like 8.39 a 40lb bag. Dick's has it for 6.98 but is about 15 miles away. So I go to Walmart early that morning and talk to an asst manager who agrees to price match. I tell him I will be back later on once Dicks opens up so he can call them (there wasnt an add so a call is needed to confirm price - that is the way Academy and other places have been operating). So I go back and that asst manager is gone for the day. After 5 minutes of one of the other managers calling for the head manager - this wormy a-hole finally answers the page and refuses to call Dicks. He said that they will only price match a printed advertisment.

I was hot - luckily that guy wasnt in front of me when this occurred or else I would have gladly told him where he could stick his freakin corn. Just plain lazy. I ended up going to Acdemy because they were have a sale on corn for 6.99 a 40lb bag. I didnt even bother talking to the asst mgr tat told me would price match - not worth it.

Again - one more reminder why I shouldnt buy a stick of gum from that place.

You're not gonna get a 5 star meal at a drive through either. It's just a matter of what you're used to and what you expect I suppose. I try to avoid it mostly due to the lines to check out. 38 registers and only 6 of them open with 200 ft long lines of people just drives me nuts.

If I can find it anywhere else for close to same price my money doesn't go to Mega-Low-Mart as refered to on Hank Hill. It is interesting though some of the attire you see in a Wallmart

Yep one of my pet peeves. Never fails someone has something not marked and they have to send someone to check the price. Generally it's a 99 cent item.

In a case like this, I probably would have gone back and prepared for a large buy with the competitor with the lower price.

I enjoy Wal-Mart's prices, but sometimes its just not the same quality as what I really want.

I was a zombie like all americans,":WALMART:, must go to :WALMART:" then I deciced to go to Target, maybe 3 months ago. Haven't been to walmart since, ( unless its 1 in the morning, and i needed some fishing line, early am )

Between, Target, and Kroger, Academy it makes up what walmart has, I dont need to one stop shop, I just want, clean store, fast lines, and civilized people, and if i have to go to three stores, not to have to go to walmart, I'm all in...

KMart ain't what it used to be either. Bought a very nice Beretta O/U at one in the mid 80s. Try that now or even a shell for one.
