Im coming back from my deployment in Aghanistan around the month of Dec. 2011. Im new to the state of Texas and I would appreciate any information on public, private land, guided hunts ect.

Where abouts are you going to be? There are so many oppertunities, I am sure you will find something to fit exactly what you are looking for. O welcome and be safe over there until your return!!!

Welcome back and thank you for your service.

If you are unable to get on a lease then there is always Crockett National Forest. It's your forest, your taxes helped pay for the 162,000 acres.

We hunted there for 4 or 5 years and always had a good time and made lots of good memories. Another thing about hunting the National Forest, it that, that is real hunting. You have to actually go out, scout for signs and then set up an ground blinds or tree stand.

Contact the Forest Service affliated for that forest.
