I load 60 gr partitions in mine, but all I shot is hogs and deer. Asking for an all around varmit and "for the caliber" big game round is kinda tuff.

55 gr soft point is what i use. I got a deal on 9 boxes of norma ammo, for $35 so i'll be shooting it for a while.

I like the hornady vmax. Dont plan on saving the skins or getting them mounted,it makes them ugly

Will the v-max penetrate as well as the partitions at 200 yds.

The v-max is not made for penetration unlike the partitions. Most of the time on a broad side coyote past a 100yds, shot behind the shoulder they will not exit. At close range they usually exit with a hole about the size of a soft ball.

I don't really hunt with small calibers but I think you would like the Federal Fusion. I shoot it in my 308 and it is very nice. Performs very well.

Deer & Hogs, 60 gr. Nosler Partition, 53 or 62 gr. Barnes TSX.
'yotes and other varmints, anything that goes bang and is accurate in your rifle. The 45 grain Winchester White Box Varmint packs have a serious "Red Mist" factor..

I have been to every sporting goods store in Denton County today looking for the Barnes TSX. Can you get the Barnes TSX in a factory load, or are they handloads only?

I have always shot a 22-250. Here is what i like and works! If you can get someone to reload and IF! your rifle likes them any barnes x bullets. I personally shoot the 53gr. xlc which is a x-bullet moly coated, but any x-bullet will work. I have not tried thier new tlx triple shocks, but have heard they are a little more accurate and just if not better! I have shot hogs, deer, coyotes! You name it! Nothing has ever been wounded! You ought to see the damage that bullet makes. It is due to the construction of the bullet and very high velocity! Before i used barnes, the other one's i used and you can buy them off the shelves, would be the federal premium 55 grain sierra boattail hollowpoints. That bullet would always work for me, extremely accurate and fast! My friend still shoots that bullet and will not change. It is a gameking bullet, not a varmint bullet. Personally i would stay away from all! ballistic tips for hogs and deer, i am sure people use them but that really is a varmint bullet! Another one i have heard but not used is the new 60gr nosler that federal loads. It is a partition so it should be good. hope this helped you somewhat??? By the way if you do not handload on midway usa their is a company that loads the barnes triple shock bullet or you can go to stars and stripes or cpcartridge.com they load any barnes-x bullets moly coated or just regular bullets. If you need any info let me know? We have done alot of r&d on 22-250's!!!

Thanks for the info on the 60gr. Noslers, Yukon. Just picked up 3 boxes. For anyone else looking for these... Cabela's is the only place that I could find that carries them, and they just got in a shipment of 'em.
