Okay I am new to the bow forum, here's my question. I just got back into bow hunting three years ago, I am shooting a Mathews Solocam, which is old I know, it was inherited 3 years ago from a death in the family. I only hunt in October so its not really cold but I have killed deer and hogs each year, the reason I say its not cold when I hunt may help with the bow question.
My question, thru a trade I will be getting a bow in a couple of weeks I can not use since it is left handed.
Its a one month old Mathews Monster bow, left handed, 25.5 pull, 70lb draw weight, with two sights, one fiber optic, Mathews arrow drop, Mathews quiver, and about two dozen carbon arrows, a nice case, and some other attachments I believe.
So I want to get a new bow, thinking about a Z7 extreme since I really have enjoyed the bow hunting, it gives me something to do before duck season starts.
What should I do, trade the bow at a bow shop, sale out right, or what? What do you guys think it would be worth to sale on my own or value for a trade. Also what would be a good bow shop around Rowlett?
Thanks for the help, I am new to this sport, I can talk duckhunting at length but am lost with Archery.

Id think you'd get more for it,by selling it outright. But,it never hurts to ask a shop what they'd give ya for it.

The bow is a Mathews, Mcpherson Series, Monster XLR8 in camo. What do you think it's worth?

Since it is left-handed you will have a tougher time finding a buyer unfortunately...

That is going to be a hard combo to sell. The draw length can be changed with a new cam, but the arrows will then be too short (and it's still left handed).

What are you trading for it? Might be a lot easier to not trade for the new bow and sell whatever you were going to trade.

It's a big trade with other items involved. I just think there should be some good value there, I thought the bow with all attachments should be worth about $800? Can all the attachments such as quiver, sights, arrow rests be attached to another Mathews bow such as a Z7? I do know all the extras is were the cost is.

You can probably get between $550-$675, depending on what's on the bow. I believe modules can be purchased for $15 to change.the draw length.

Being a left handed bow should poise no problem. You can go to www.archetypal.com and there is a classified.section dedicated to left handed bows exclusively. Also, you can list there in classified. LH people are always looking for a bow, see several a day asking me about new LH bows.

Good Luck.....

These are being sent from my phone and auto correct and such apply to words, so if mispelled or wrong word, sorry.

You can take all the accessories and change over to z7. Arrow rest, maybe, depends on what it is. Your bare bow might bring $400, but do some.research and see....

Take it to On Target in Canton. Find out what value the bow has, Bryan might have someone looking for a LH Matthews.

I am looking for a left-hand bow. I would have to get a new cam for this bow. My draw length is about 28.5 inches. I would not be able to use the arrows for this same reason. Can you post pics when you get the bow? Any idea on how much you would be asking?

Thanks for the help. I do not think I will trade for the bow, it looks like it will cost me around $600 or so in the trade, I thought it may be worth a little more but obviously not given what I found out on here. I think I will just buy another bow when I get ready.
For now I will just hunt with my old Mathews Solocam.

Have you even shot a Z7? IMO I think you could get in a bow of its age/class for almost nothing.

I agree, I’ve bought and sold many bows and archery products on Ebay.
