give it a try for sure. ive had times where i couldnt rattle nothing in to save my life and then hit the bleat call and have deer come running. im no expert by any means but you cant get them big ole boys without trying.

If your talking about the actual antlers just plastic then I've had a ton of success with them. As for the rattle bags and pack rack, I've never used them.

Artificial antlers don't sound the way real ones do. Deer know the difference. Go with a real set if you plan to rattle.

I never liked the sound or the plastic antlers/bags and ended up getting a set of real antlers off of Ebay.

I used a plastic set and a hunter down the ridge said he heard me rattle. He said he was laughing on his stand and said it sounded terrible.
On a different day....My wife on the other hand was using real horns and was a long way off, I could hear her rattle and it sounded fantastic (an she is a novice hunter)
*stick with horns from the property you hunt (if at all possible)

I prefer real unless I'm walking a lot, then I'll carry a rattle bag.
On a side note, I've got an old junky set of mule deer antlers that I rattle with. Whitetails really seem to like 'em for some reason.
Silver spurs and gold tequila keep me hanging on. Pretty girls and old cantinas give me shelter from the storm.

try to find "the pack rack" ive used them for the last couple of years called up lots of bucks and the best part is they make no noise when your climbing in and out of your tree stand

I bought a perfect-sized set of antlers off EBay for about $20 and drilled a hole in each base and threaded a big leather shoelace. Sounds awesome - but this will be my first year to try rattling. We'll see....
