Could be true for a bunch of us, hwy....but it could also be we only care about the end result.
I'm not a fan of my 300, no secret...but it does have its place.
But I do get a kick out watching people shoot them.. Think it would be safe to say most would be served better with a lesser recoiling round.
My dad bought a savage 338 one time for a caribou hunt, I offered to check it for him. Learned two things that day... A)a 338 w/muzzle break on will clear out a gun range &B) I wasn't as big of an ol'boy as I thought I was. Four shots made an 1.5 group...you couldnt of paid me $50 to take the next shot . Probably didn't help the first shot I had the break off....
To the guys that shoot them ever day more power to you..

In my younger day's I had brother-inlaw that had a Weatherby dealership. He had about one of everything they made including a 460. We went out to sight it in and it took me nine rounds and about an hour to do it, that thing would shake ya up.
Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

Worked up some loads for the 300 Weatherby many years ago that had 110's pushing close to 4000 fps.

I find it very interesting the number of 30's in general. I can't remember the last time I saw one actually used by one of the guys at our deer camp.

5'10" 30-30 mostly .270 and .243 Play sometimes too.
How many of you girls use a lead sled or something like it when sighting in your rifle??
