So I need to add more corn to my feeder this weekend and I would like to find out what else I can do to bring more deer out. My camera show me about 4 different ones coming back-no bucks.. Looking at Academy I see oats, salt licks, and all sorts of treats-
What have you used that works?
Thanks!

call around to the feed stores and see if they carry 50# bags of Cal Phos...pour it on and around a stump and see if they like it.

This time of year there's not much comming to feeders (IMO) water might help if your feeder is a long way from water. We just take a tote like you get from w-mart and fill it with water. For salt licks I find a depression (mud hole) near by that holds water after rain and pour rock salt in it. This time of year I'd just pour salt in it then pour a couple of gallons of water in it so the salt would desolve and soak into the ground. If you know someone with pear trees, go pick up some pears and throw out around feeders.

You could get a few things.. last year I used mineral licks for the first time they were the kind that came in a bucket and screwed to the tree then you take the bucket off so you never actually touch the lick.. hung it about 4 feet off the ground.. deer used it all year. the pear idea is a good one to.. i have thrown out old apples and they usually dont last long either deer love em

My grandmother has a pear tree in her back yard, I pick as many as I can and throw them around the feeders. This year we moved all the cows off the place we hunt so I turned the cows mineral block feeders into a deer mineral block feeder, just placed 4 or 5 wildlife blocks in each feeder. The deer are hitting the feeders hard at my place and the mineral block always seem to help them stick around.

Search here on the THF for "Rack Daddy" or "Mark Howard". He is making a product that is drawing deer to the lick with in a week to 10 days for me. I have placed it in two areas that are 35-40 miles apart and both licks are being hit by the deer.

Thanks DLALLDER, glad to hear it is working for you as we expected. mikefinchmp I sent you a PM as well
I just took to market here a mineral lick called Rack Daddy Premium Minerals. We spared no expense in putting the best mix on the market today in my humble opinion. It has minerals, vitamins and the right salt content to keep them coming back. Just pouring dicalcium phosphate on the ground will do nothing because they will not touch it, its too bitter. We mixed the right % of each mineral then added vitamins to help them convert the minerals to there best use. Hope you will take a look at it, I have another post on the deer section that will lead you to the trading post where it is for sale. Or you can call me at 972-957-RACK
Be Blessed Mark Howard

Mark,
I put out the Rack Daddy Last night 37 Miles south west of Childress and something tore it up. I did not check the cameras yet, But Have High Hopes. We saw a large Mule Deer Buck leaving one of the locations at Dark last night. Next time I check the cameras if I have a good one I will send it to you.
So many fish so little time
