I've tried a multitude of pistols for concealed carry over the years and have come up with a list of my favorites.

For a full size pistol it has to be the Browning Hi-Power in 9mm, 14 rounds and the best grip size for smaller hands that I've ever used. It can be carried in the waistband but I prefer a shoulder holster if possible.

For compact I prefer the Sig 239, it's thin, pretty much deburred, has a great double and single action pull (especially the older models) and is extremely accurate. Very comfortable in the waistband but again I prefer a shoulder holster if possible.

For small caliber pocket pistol I like the Beretta Tomcat in 32 auto, mine has had the front and back sights taken down smooth with the frame and barrel, completely deburred and converted to DAO with the safety disabled and ground smooth to the frame and Dura coated.

Another small caliber pocket that I like is the High Standard derringer in 22mag, the only modification on it is super thin grips. I had to shorten the screw and alignment pins. It's not accurate and extremely loud but can get you out of a bind in an emergency.

There are several pistols out there I did not try or will not try even though they get the job done as well if not better than the ones listed and it's not because of looks, reliability, accuracy or any issue other than being made of or having parts made of plastic. I just can't do plastic in a pistol!

So what are y'all favorites for the categories I've listed?

The 640 is one that get's an almost in my book, it's almost a pocket pistol. Mine is a 642.

Summer time Glock 19

Winter time Glock 21

Deep concealment a SW airweight.

Both in comptac c tacs. I am gonna ditch the glock 19, and get a glock 30. So that I can consolidate mags and ammo.

Great Taste Highwayman up

The only thing I would change on your list is the fullsize from a Browning Hi-Power to a Sig Sauer P228 up If push came to shove the Hi-Power would more than suffice for me

Tried the 228 and the grip was just too wide for my hands.

CZ-75 Compact. Finest carry pistol ever made IMHO. I even heard one Moderator (don't worry Randy, I won't tell em it was youup) say he liked it better than his Sig...

For summertime/pocket carry Kahr PM9.

I carry a 1911 officers model whenever possible. The right holster makes it concealable under most conditions. When deep concealment is mandatory I carry a KelTec P3AT loaded with Federal Hydrashocks or Hornady TAP's in a pocket holster or as a last resort, an ankle holster.

I carry an XD 40 sub-compact all year. The only time I don't is when I go to the gym because I can hide the XDm 45 in the gym bag. I just do that so I can have an excuse to break out the full size gun.
