I can help with every part of that except the removable clip, but it has a hinged floorplate (Remington 700 BDL LH in .30-06). Where is your friend located?

Good point. I started out with a Remington 742 Woodsmaster carbine in .30-06. Works fine for a lefty. Mine's been mothballed since I got the Savage.

Browning offers the ABolt in left handed and has a removable clip. Several calibers available i think.

I'm a lefty too, and couldn't shoot a lefty gun to save my own life. I've never shot anything but righty's, and just got so used to them, that a lefty gun is plum strange, the port's on the wrong side and I can't see what's goin on in there.. I do lean toward pistol grip style stocks, because chambering a second round requires less effort. Never had an issue with powder blast in my face with any gun I've ever shot. And while that's not every gun out there, I have shot many different kinds of guns.
