I am going to a friends 4400 acre lease to help him work and do plenty of pig hunting. My question is, what is the FASTEST way to attract pigs into the area i will be hunting? We are going to arrive Friday around 6:00PM and whatever i am going to use for an attractant i will immediately go put it out as soon as we arrive. We will be in Lampasas. I know i have read where people say what works but i dont think i have ever seen someone say what gives FAST RESULTS. Thanks, Travis

Hey, I'm out here in Copperas Cove... We've been doin pretty good with corn mixed with some Hog Wild that you can get at Academy. I'd make yourself a Hog Pipe and set them out as soon as you can and get the Pigs used to eatin around there.
Also, dig a 6 inch hole or so and fill it with corn, something sweet like Kool-Aid or Syrup, and maybe even a few beers and cover it up. These are methods that won't get you VERY quick results, but if you were to set these up a day or two before you go out to hunt you will most likely get 'em out if they're around. I'm pretty close and will be available to help if needed. Good Luck!!!

Forgot...they sell some syrup-like hog attractant stuff in a bottle at Academy. If you spread that stuff out around where youre hunting, you might get 'em out. It's extremely hot and dry and the ground is too hard for them to root around right now so they are pretty much in hiding even at night. Your best shot would be late at night and VERY early morning. Hope that helps.

If there are pigs then nothing is gonna work better than a 50 lb. bag of corn. I trap pigs with like an 80% success rate for each night a trap is set. All of the hog attractants are just corporate trying to make a buck. There are many people that beg to differ, but I kill lots of hogs without special attractants.

Go to the beer store and see if they have nay out of date beer, like grossly out of date.
Take beer and sour corn with it, Sprinkle jello powder everywhere around the sour corn/beer mix.

I would try plain corn, sour corn, corn with jelly, corn with diesel etc.....all various locations to see what works in the area and what gets hit, then you will have your answer given to you by local hog population.

Take a five gallon bucket with a lid. Empty 2 gallons of milk in the bucket. Mix in a container of pre-sweetened grape koolaid and then fill 3/4 full with corn. Secure lid and let that sit in your hot garage and sour for about a week. Never had pigs come into my family's place out in east texas until I used that mixture and now they are regulars at my feeder.

I run a couple of.day leases in east texas and have that wether you are try to attract hogs are deer or whatever game animal it is best to use what the folks. In the area use. For example on my ranches I use protein boxes and corn and a sure fire way to kill a spot is to put out some pig out or hog wild not saying anything is wrong with the product it just changes the whole.atmosphere and in return causes the wildlife to avoid the area. In my opinion the best and fastest way to bait a hog is to go out find sign of there travel routes. Mud on trees fresh rootin tracks move off there path 5 to 10 yds dig a hole fill it with corn and cover.it with dirt then brodcast corn from.trail to corn hole lightly. That has proven to be the fastest and most efective way for me any time we want to set up a new spot.
