My question is: Their site says that the laser will make your regular scope work like a night vision scope. Isn't it just a very bright green light?

It's actually a Laser Designator, similiar to what the military uses.

So basically I'll light up a yote and some ballistic missile will snipe it out for me? I guess what I am asking is if they work as described on the website? Will it truly lighten up a target enough for a shot without the use of an additional light source?

Contrary to what Audey claims I don't believe the ND3 is "junk". I recently purchased the ND3 and was aware prior to purchasing it that it didn't work in cold temps. They do make a model for colder temps if you need it. As far as performance goes I will be hog hunting with it this weekend but just sighting with it around the house it seems to perform as advertised. You mound the ND3above the scope and then align the scope with beam using the adjusting screws. Once adjusted your scope actually looks down the beam which illuminates anything your scope points at with a green beam. It does look just like night vision. The beam is bright enough that I can see my noniluminated crosshairs in my scope. At a cost of $299 it makes for a very affordable tool to allow you to hunt at night. The ND3 also comes with a mount for your binoculars. Hopefully I will get the chance to use it this weekend on some hogs.

As mentioned above mine dimmed severely in colder weather so I sold it and have since switched to the Kill light XLR 250. They have supposedly addressed the power drain in cold weather now, and are actually getting some pretty good reviews. I have not tried the "Sub Zero" however. Chupa

Had one to use as a demo model.......didn't see any advantage to it other than spooking the hogs.....
Spent money and bought two lights from Texas Boars web site from Kevin Ryer. One for a rifle and one on a stand......can see 100 yds w/ them.
So IMHO money was much better spent at Texas Boars...

Chupa How do you like the kill light XLR 250? I'm stuck between getting that or the nd3, but im worried the kill light's beam cant reach out far, how far can yours reach out while being able to still see the target pretty good?

I've never had the ND3 spook hogs and I've seen clearly through my scope up to 200 yards on a dark night with it.

I've seen it spook them over and over again. Spend the extra $100 to $200 and get a night vision rifle scope. We have the mini varmit hunter NV scope for $399.99, it's a good scope for the money.

I have never seen mine spook hogs, coons, deer, etc.... I bought the 40x and love it. I wish I could just buy a night vision scope but if I am going to do that I dont want some reg ole Gen 1. I want the best. So ND3 will do for now

I have zero complaints about the kill light, the farthest you are going to see anything where I have used it is 125yds. But that is because of the terrain, not the light. I feel very confident that I would be able to see eyes past 200yds if the terrain would allow it. FYI, get the "Halo Shield" from BoonDock Outdoors with it. It really helped with light backwash and my eyes readjusted to darkness much quicker once I got the shield. Chupa

Why not just buy a feeder light that you dont have to keep turning on and off such as the texasboars light as mentioned?

I also don't hunt over a feeder per say. Atleast not in the sense that you would think of a feeder. Chupa
