Never dove hunted up there, but I've hunted duck there since I can remember on and near the Red River. I've had many great hunts out there and many bad. I usually don't bother going up there unless a cold front is about to push through or has just pushed through during the work week.

And I have been known to venture up to fanning a time or two. The dove are pretty decent when you can find em but they are like teal up that way. Here in masses one day.....gone the next. bolt

I agree with Sprigs...we go every year on opening day in Ector and have great hunts...but then the next day or the day after, they are all gone. but we just follow all our local buddies that live there and they put us on the little guys.

The ducks are better, the closer you get to the red. I grew p hunting out west over the penuts, but over the past few years i have been migrating north east.

I'm contemplating a lease that borders the Bois D' Arc creek. Anyone hunt property on the creek. Have any thoughts?

I'd do it only a yearly basis, word is the folks around that area trying to put the new lake planned for that creek on the fast track to bring business to the area......so it may happen sooner rather than later....over here in Delta County folks are trying to stop it so those may take a while..

Jace ... I still can't make up my mind if the new reservoir will help or hurt us. It should bring more migrators to the area and hold them here, but unless a portion is made into a refuge for roosting, I suspect it won't have that much impact either way on the folks who already hunt surrounding areas.

that is funny my wifes grandfather always has to tell me about hunting the bois d arc creek when he was younger. Said they paid the owner of the place like one or 5 dollars a day. Said it was just flooded boi d arc as. Killed lots of birds down there.
