Well got back from Squiggy's place and had a blast! I went down there with 3 other military buddies of mine and really enjoyed ourselves. First night we got out there and oh my was it hot! Sqiggy got us four out to stands and about 7pm one of my buddies stalked on a pack of 15 hogs and he got to about 75 yards and hit one hard. The pig then squilled and hit the ground head first then got up and ran into the brush. When it got dark about 8:45 we all got together and started tracking the pig but never even found blood, not even where we seen the pig enter the woods. Next morning we switched up stands and I went to the stand they call Hog central. As we were walking up to the stand there was a pig right under the feeder so we crouched down and with a lil .40 cal carbine placed a shot on her. We only seen a small dime size spot of blood and that was it. So we went back to where I had takin the shot and walked to the last place we seen the pig trotting and the pig wasn’t 20 yards away and never bleed! My other buddy was the next stand over and as i was getting down of the stand at 9:30, he put a great shot on another pig! 2 down within an hour or so! We then loaded them up and went back to camp and cleaned them and got them on ice! That afternoon squiggy took my other buddy and the buddy that couldn’t find his pig to the river bottom were he had been seeing some lots of hogs and they waded across the river and sat up on a sand bar and waited. Then a group of hogs ran past them not stop them so they attempted to shoot on the run and missed! All in all we had a Blast even though it was extremely hot! We killed 2 100lbs pigs and seen plenty of game including some nice bucks in velvet! We defiantly will be booking a hunt for next year with squiggy!

Im just glad even though it was so hot (105degrees) the animals were still movin good and we all seen somthing and had a chance at hogs! But me and my other sniper buddy made out on them!

not surprised you had a good time I hunted there in may and had a blast . shot a 140 lb boar .I was so amazed at the place I plan on goin back in march of next year. sqiggy is a heck of a guy and he will put you on some pigs if ya listen to him.

did any of you go to the spot thats about 2 or 3 miles away from the gate? there was a big pig there but I never got a bead on it. we were callin it "big nasty".the place I'm talkin about isnt in the gate it's off some paved road a couple miles from the one that has the camp site.

We did have a great time and it was tough hunting through the heat and cleaning them as fast as we could in the heat but we got it done and will be doing it again this coming year! Thanks yall

No, they didn't get there. Had a guy hunt there last week and only had a piglet show up. He could hear the rest of them out towards the creek and was holding off for the momma or a bigger one. But something spooked them and they all took off and never fired a shot, but he was bowhuntin. But Big Nasty is still there. Got some more pics of him!!!
Brian, glad you got a pig and the rest of yall had a good time. Be looking forward for next year. I have one more hunt to do later this month and I'm thru for the year. Just gettin too HOT for this ole man!!!

Squiggy it was really hot for us too and we understand, so next year we will be coming earlier! But thank you for everything you did for us getting us set up, to even putting my tent up before the storm came in! We really do appreciate all you did!
