Do you own or are you leasing?

Just being nosy here, but by "Your Place", is this land you own or lease?

Not that it really matters in the long run, but, it could.

If you own the property then you could file on him for trespassing with the picture from your game cam.

If you are leasing the place, then you will have to go thru the landowner, which, even though the neighbor does not want You on his place, may have a different arrangement with the person that owns the property you are hunting on.

Could have been something like a lost cow or maybe not. I believe I would have the Grandparents contact him and discuss it.

My grand parents are old and i have full rain of the place. Their are no cows on his place and i no he was going to look at my food plots. My point is that he dosent want any one on his place and i understand that. I guess he thinks that it is ok for him to just do what ever he wants. I have Proof that he is on my place and i wanted to get others oppion of should i contact him first of go directly to the gw.

Contact the GW and the Sheriff. Then you have all the bases covered. Even if you don't intend to file any charges, it could be the groundwork for further action if necessary.

Sorry, my post fell in the middle. With the other information you gave, take the pic and go to the GW and let him straighten it out, if necessary, put up some No Trespassing signs or invest in some Purple Paint. If you get anymore pictures take them straight to the GW.

Keep us posted on what is happening and Good Luck.

I believe I would contact him and discuss the matter. If he has specifically told you not to come on his place, then I would pointedly tell him to keep off of mine.

If he was carrying a bow or rifle, then it would be a matter for the law.

My only reservation with your advice Dave, is that if the guy made a point of telling syrus to keep off his property, letting him know that syrus has a method of being able to tell when he is on there would be tipping his hand.

The GW approaching him with a copy of the picture will do more to spook him. JMO.

Go ask your neighbor if he has been on your property and i wouldn't say anything about being on camera, just yet.If he says yes he was then you can ask him why but if he does admit it then at least you know you have a half honest neighbor but if he denys it then just tell him you know somebody has been on it then the choice is yours to settle with whatever choice you choose. The thing about sending him a pic is he will have time to think up some type of good excuse and no need of giving him that advantage.I think that he is your neighbor and it would be better to try to get along and i would give him one chance and he already took it,also tell him you are willing to prosecute any trespassers and just in case he does it again i wouldn't say anything about the camera just yet.
Let us know how it turns out and good luck.

I would go straight to the GW. If you try talking to him it could turn into some kind of dimestic dispute. You dont want to get yourself involved in anything like that, Let the GW handle it , thats want they get paid for.

If you have leased all hunting rights then you have the power to prosacute, I know I have been there more than once, as for what I would do, I would throw the book at him. He knew full on what he was doing was wrong, I had 4 guys from Dallas poching deer on me, when we cought them I pressed full charges plus the guys had illeagl drugs on them. HAMMER HIS ARSE!

If your grand parents are too old to call the neighbor, you don't have many options.

I would try to call the GW and have him talk to your grand parents and then talk to the neighbor for you.

Could you tell if he was armed in the pics?

If so, the GW might be able to help a lot.

Well...since he is a "neighbor"...my advice is to give him a warning first to keep the peace. It ain't fun sharing property with a neighbor and both of you are itching for a fight. Tell him you respect his private property and want him to do so for your grandparents. Someday that neighbor might help you or vice versa. No sense in getting off to a bad start right away. But if he persists on trespassing...then all bets are off and you have every right to file charges. My 2 cents worth.

I agree with Dave. You should contact him to discuss the matter. Is he the type of person you can speak with?

If not, you have no choice but to let the law officals handle it.
